To successfully enroll and complete the Fundamentals of
AutoCAD internet course, you must, at a minimum, have access to the following software and
hardware necessary to run it.
AutoCAD
AutoCAD is not supplied as part of your enrollment and registration
fees. You must have access to the correct version of AutoCAD to successfully complete the
course. While the versions are similar, they are different enough to make learning the
program confusing if you are not using the same version. As the course website and
textbook were developed specifically for a certain version, you must have access to that
version. Note you are not required to purchase or own AutoCAD to take any of the courses.
All you need is access to the program. There have been many people in the past, for
example, that used AutoCAD through their place of employment. There are student versions
of AutoCAD available at a greatly reduced price. Check out the Student
Version page to see if you would qualify.

E-MAIL Program
You must provide an E-MAIL program capable of attaching files and viewing
messages in HTML format. Outlook Express, available with Microsoft Internet Explorer
6 is free and works well. Another capable E-MAIL program is Eudora. If your E-MAIL account
is not capable of attaching files or viewing messages in HTML format, you
can obtain a free E-MAIL account from
hotmail.

WEB Browser
Assignments and course information will be distributed over the Internet.
When you register for the course you will be given a password to access the course
Internet site. We will be using the AutoCAD DWF file format to view
drawings over the internet. You must have a web browser capable of
viewing the assignment files. The course website was developed
specifically for Microsoft Internet Explorer.
